Can I contact a freelancer before purchasing a service from them?
Yes, you can easily contact any freelancer by selecting the “send message” button on any listing.
Can I pay a freelancer directly for their services?
You must buy services from freelancers directly through their service listing. We cannot guarantee the safety or security of any payments made outside of our platform and attempts to circumvent commission fees are strictly forbidden by our terms of service.
How can I check the quality of a freelancer’s work before purchasing from them?
You can read reviews of freelancers by scrolling to the bottom of any listing page. Most freelancers will include examples of their work on their listing page, but if you want to see more examples you can always send them a message to request their full portfolio.
Are payments secure?
Yes, we use secure payment gateways like PayPal and Stripe to process all payments. We hold all payments until both the seller and buyer have agreed that the work has been marked is completed and delivered by both the seller and the buyer before we release funds to the seller.
In case of any disputes, we encourage buyers and sellers to work this out amongst themselves, but if a resolution cannot be reach we will make a determination on whether the order should be considered complete or rejected in accordance with our terms of service and an evaluation of whether the seller has delivered on their service as described in their listing.
Are there any hidden fees or sales taxes I should be aware of?
In most cases the price that you see listed on a service listing is the same price you will pay at checkout. Commission is taken as a percentage of the fee on the sellers end, not the buyers end. The only sales tax we collect is 15% GST from customers in New Zealand. If you set your country as New Zealand, an additional 15% charge will be automatically added to your order.
Can I cancel an order?
No, you cannot cancel an order. If you’re not satisfied with your order you can request revisions or submit a dispute if you believe the seller has violated our terms of service.
What happens if a freelancer doesn’t deliver or violates the terms of service?
If a freelancer doesn’t deliver or violates the terms of service in any other way, the first thing you should do is attempt to resolve the dispute by communicating directly with the seller via private message. However, if you’re unable to come to an agreement, you can submit a dispute. We will then make contact with both the buyer and seller to attempt to resolve the dispute on your behalf. We will then make a determination on whether the order should be considered complete or rejected in accordance with our terms of service and an evaluation of whether the seller has delivered on their ervice as described in their service listing. If we find that the seller has violated the terms of service or hasn’t delivered as promised, you will receive a full refund.
How do I download files a freelancer sends me?
Files sent through direct message will open in a new tab when double clicked. You can then download them by right clicking on PC or holding the command button and clicking on Mac. Then select “save as…” to download the file.
How do I accept a delivery?
